On 24th August 2024, the Madureira Viaduct in Rio de Janeiro became the epicentre of a social revolution: the G20 Favelas meeting. This landmark event marked a pivotal moment in global discussions, as favela residents were truly included in the G20 dialogue for the first time. Organised by CUFA, the Parliamentary Front for Favelas, and the National Antiracist Front, the gathering brought together over 400 leaders and favela residents from across the State of Rio de Janeiro.
